Time and time again, we’ve seen the Tiago exceed expectations in terms of build quality, essentially earning the title of “Mr.” Tiago.
This debacle between Tata Tiago and Maruti Dzire makes for some interesting observations. The Tiago is a 4-star safety rated product and has impressed with its strong performance in the unfortunate incidents recorded in the past. On the other hand, Dzire is the most popular sedan in the country, but its body durability has often been questioned by owners. However, this clash of the two makes for some interesting observations.

Tata Tiago Hits Maruti Dzire
The video was posted by Nikhil Rana on his YouTube channel. He regularly posts such videos to raise awareness among Indian car buyers about the importance of investing in cars with high safety ratings. This incident was reported in Jharkhand. Here, one of the Tiago drivers tried to overtake another vehicle on the dual carriageway. But he miscalculated the maneuver and ended up hitting the opposite direction Maruti Dzire. The two cars hit each other almost head-on. Interestingly, despite NCAP marking the Tiago as a safer car, both models have suffered similar levels of damage.

The impact on both vehicles is quite severe. The Tiago has a broken bumper, headlamps, hood, grille, side mirrors, etc. in the front end. However, the impact did not penetrate the cabin, as the side supports are intact. The airbags deployed, protecting the passengers from any injuries. Dzire, on the other hand, hit from the front right side. As a result, the hood, bumper, grille and headlights are severely damaged. However, due to the angle of impact, the passengers were safe as the airbags deployed and the impact was not head-on.

The Tiago has proven itself time and time again to be a safe car, which is even reflected in the 4-star safety rating awarded by NCAP. However, in this case, Dzire has performed just as well. This makes it clear that the NCAP score is certainly not the final word when it comes to vehicle crash performance. Finally, we want to warn our readers against speeding. This is still the most obvious reason for such undesirable situations on the road. Even here, if the drivers had driven slowly, they could have avoided the crash. Therefore, we invite readers to always follow the traffic rules and avoid speeding at all costs.
